“L’occhio dello zar” occupa un posto speciale sullo scaffale dei thriller- perché è nello stesso tempo romanzo storico e romanzo di investigazione poliziesca, perché, accanto ai personaggi fittizi, su queste pagine fanno la loro comparsa persone veramente esistite perché la storia di fondo è una delle storie più tragiche, più discusse, e anche, da un certo punto di vista, più romantiche del secolo passato.
